2018 Christmas Drive for Carrington Place Nursing Home

NWHS Art Clubs Happy Helpers

Recently, NWHS Art Club decided to lend a helping hand to local senior citizens by making gift bags for the residents of the Carrington Place nursing home.  Students made adult coloring books from their own zentagle artworks and collected items such as sugar free candy, lotion, socks, tissue, color pencils, and snacks were collected from students and faculty of NWHS.  In addition, Freds Discount Store of Springhill collected items for the senior citizen gift drive on behalf of the NWHS Art Club.   Several club members met at NWHS on their first day of winter break to load up their presents and carpooled to the nursing home ready to spread cheer. Every resident of the nursing home received a special gift that brought smiles to their faces.  The main goal of NWHS Art Club is to help out the local businesses in the community while sharing the love of the arts. Art Club members enjoyed their time spent with the kind residents of Carrington Place nursing home and hope to visit again soon. NWHS Art Club member, Aubrie Benefield, was so touched by the experience that she said God was sure glorified today!”

Students who went to nursing home are Kaylon Lewis Aubrie Benefield, Audrey Hattaway, Mario Alea-Ngongo, Malik Alea-Ngongo, Alexis Mendenhall, and Adam Dubois.  Sponsor: Stacy Sanders not pictured.
