From the Librarian

Nelda Hataway, Librarian

As librarian, I want to welcome each one of you to the NWHS Library! This is YOUR library, and I want you to feel at home in it and use it as often as possible. We have a wide range of materials, including books, books on tape, playaways, reference materials, magazines, newspapers, Accelerated Reader tests, and Internet access.

If you think you don't like to read, you probably just haven't connected with the right books or the right authors. That's where I come in! I read many of the fiction books in our library, and I would really like to help you locate titles that you will enjoy. Just give me an idea of something that interests you--sports, mystery, fantasy, science fiction, romance, etc.---and I can find you a good book! Don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask for help. That's what I'm here for. I want to work with each one of you and help you develop a love of reading. Please let me know how I can help you!

I have been librarian at Springhill High School/North Webster High School for many years. I look forward to working with each of you and helping you to locate good books and information.

I am a graduate of Choudrant High School in Choudrant, LA and Louisiana Tech in Ruston. I have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science, a Master's + 30, and a Reading Specialist degree. I enjoy reading (no surprise there!), playing the piano, going to the beach, and shopping for antiques. I love spending time with my grandson!
