NWHS Art Club Students Perform in Haunted House
North Webster High School Art Club volunteered to perform in a haunted house at the Fall Festival at North Webster Upper Elementary in Cotton Valley on October 30, 2018. Art teacher, Stacy Sanders, says that this is the fifth year our art club students have volunteered for this activity and although it is a lot of fun, it is also a lot of work. The evening before talented art teacher, Ken Jenkins, and NWHS art student, Adam Dubois, decorated and prepped the old basement under the Cotton Valley School’s cafeteria for the haunted house. The morning of the 30th, students spent several hours with special effects, costume design, and make up.
“This is my first year in the NWHS Art Club and my first year working in the haunted house. It was a lot of fun. We were as excited as the young kids were who came through it,” said Carlie Peek. Art Club members scared many children with blood-curdling screams, spooky stories, and creepy demeanor. Some of the students at NWUE even went through the haunted house multiple times, wanting to face their fears or be scared again.
